A Brief Stroll Down Memory Lane….. Our early beginnings evolve from the Moral Treatment Model which was introduced in the 18th century by Philippe Pinel a French physician and Johann Reil, a German Physician. Their “Moral Treatment” model focused on a variety of work and leisure activities including reading, physical exercise and other activities to improve daily living for patients with mental illness.
